Exponential Cannes Lions Festival Animation - Exponential commissioned this animation as part of an Augmented Reality campaign for their debut at the Cannes Lions Festival 2013. Exponential is a global marketing data provider with a 450 million unique user reach worldwide every month. Until 2012 Exponential Interactive has been the holding company name for several online advertising businesses, the most famous of which is Tribal Fusion, a display network founded in 2001. Exponential wanted to transform awareness of the Exponential name, brand and proposition in the global advertising industry. We didn’t want to go into too much detail on services, focusing more on developing curiosity around the brand and drawing on relevance to the event. We wanted to present the flow of Data and its vast expanse within the digital landscape, exploring the connection between Data and nature. The Lion represents the attendees at the Cannes Lions Festival. Data builds the Lion, empowering the creative industry.
We produced the banner design and incorporated the animation as an overlay to the banner artwork. We then implemented Aurasmas‘ Augmented Reality platform to create an Aura for the event. Using smart devices the banner was brought to life. The animation seamlessly superimposed creates the dramatic effect of the banner coming to life. This is clearly demonstrated in the first 20 seconds of the event highlights video to the left.
